Michael Barber
Job Title
Chief Marketing Officer

Bio
Michael fell for marketing in 1996—sixteen years old, one internship deep, and completely hooked the moment he opened Adobe Photoshop. He’s been building brands and telling their stories ever since.
Today, Michael is Chief Marketing Officer at StarTech.com, where he leads the brand, demand generation, and communications teams. Before that, he served as Head of Global Marketing and UK Managing Director at Grow Schools and has worked with brands like Aptean, MeUndies, JLG, Johnson & Johnson, Church & Dwight, Ithaca College, Johnson Controls, and the Hass Avocado Board.
He got his start at Mighty Interactive under Jay Baer, then went on to lead creative, strategy, and planning teams at agencies including Sitewire, Nomadic, COHN, and Godfrey. While at Godfrey, he was named one of Marketo’s Fearless 50, recognizing marketers driving bold digital transformation.
Michael’s work has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes, and includes the most effective and cost-efficient campaign in the history of a Fortune 500 company—a launch that returned 160x ROAS and generated over 10 million earned media impressions in its first month.
When he’s not working, you’ll probably find him chasing his husband, Samuel, and their dog, Manny, scouting out where to find the best cold brew, or somewhere between planes, trains, and playlists.
