Rachel is an international marketing leader and brand strategist.

Brought up in Edinburgh, Rachel began working during university. She helped the festival director develop the programme for the Edinburgh Book Festival, managed TV liaison for the Edinburgh International Festival, and was a researcher for the Edinburgh International Film Festival. But the first time Rachel heard of the concept of ‘brand’ was in her first job after university, when she worked for a General Counsel who was valuing the brand as part of the sale
the business. Fascinated by how critical brand was for business value, consumer confidence and driving revenue, Rachel decided to dedicate her career to brand marketing, repositioning brands to improve market impact to drive fresh growth.

Over the last twenty years, Rachel has contributed to more than 30 business transformations, across more than 100 countries and many industries. Rachel has purposefully led initiatives from both within businesses and as a consultant. All her work has come through word of mouth.

Sarah and Rachel met at Landor, where they directed the EY (formerly Ernst & Young) rebrand. They have worked together on several brand strategies over the years.
Rachel has led brand and campaigns for Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Oracle, Sage, Colt Telecom, Ebone, Global TeleSystems, Hermes Europe Railtel, KPNQwest and Infor. With her award-winning networked consultancy Fairley & Associates, and from Landor Associates (now Landor & Fitch), Rachel has advised businesses from Akzo Nobel, Balfour Beatty, Barclays iShares, BDO, Collier Campbell,Deloitte, DS Smith, E.ON, Harsco, Hermes Fund Managers,
Instruct (University of Oxford & EU), KLM, Lloyds TSB Private Banking, Nokia, Novartis, Precise (now Kantar), Siemens, transavia (Air France/KLM), as well as Business Disability Forum and the Edmond de Rothschilds Foundation.

Known for her deep brand, marketing and transformation expertise, Rachel has a reputation for strategic thinking and creativity, productivity and pragmatism, optimism and energy, collaboration and galvanizing people to deliver the brand. She has been recognised as ‘Top 100 Future CMO 2023’; ‘Top 100 Global Marketing Leader 2022’; ‘Top 100 global B2B Marketing Leader in Tech 2021’; ‘Top 100 Most Impactful B2B Marketing Leader in Europe’ 2019 and 2016;

Rachel is a trustee at The Menopause Charity. She is partially deaf, having survived a brain tumour. She moved to London in 1999 for one year and still lives there, with her husband and sons.
